The history of two villages from the earliest
times to the present. Much of the story is of a rural society
getting on with its ordinary business, interrupted by the
wider world in times of stress, such as the Black Death, Civil
Wars, and World Wars. Here can be found country affairs, such
as cricket matches, transport, religious conflicts, local
dignitaries, and humble folk, supplements by pictures of Stock
Harvard as it is now and as it was early in the 20th century.
