The Palace of Pyrgo in the far north of the Liberty of Havering played a remarkable role in the history of the locality and of the nation. It was the favoured residence of the Dowager Queens of England, many of whom passed their years there. Mr Browne compiled this record of Pyrgo and of the events taking place elsewhere in an idiosyncratic manner which may amuse or annoy. This book was issued 'For Privae Circulation Only' in 1888.
